Hello darklings,

Do you enjoy analog things?

Maybe when something comes in the mail with your name on it, you'd like it to actually be for you, not just to an address or credit score. Not just spam, but a real, honest-to-Betty-White something you'd enjoy getting?

If so, The Little Periodical might be for you!

Once a month, you'll get a pocket-sized publication in your mailbox. Every few issues come with a special edition sticker too!

You can expect to see a variety of content—from dark fiction, speculative, or romance fiction stories told through photographs, collages, and words to explorations into the status quo and discussions of disability, joy, grief, love, feminism, and more.

FAQs

How will I know which issue is coming out?

There will be a cover reveal at the end of each month in the Here For The Little Periodical newsletter (a selection when you sign up/a checkbox in your preferences) and on this page. I'll also share if it comes with a sticker, though what it looks like will be a surprise.

Can I buy individual issues?

I am unable to sell periodicals outside of the subscription for now. I plan on publishing a pocket-sized Best Of collection at the end of each year. It will be exclusively available on my website.

*The one exception will be the embodied prompt books. Those will be extras for the periodical subscribers then available in the shop one month later.

What's the cutoff date for the upcoming issue?

Orders for the current issue end on the 16th of that month.

—Example: The April Issue orders end March 16th, so they can be mailed out around the 21st. If you order on the 17th of April until the 16th of May, it will be considered a pre-order for the May issue.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancel and re-subscribe anytime as needed through PayPal. Sorry, but there are no refunds.

What happens if I don't get my order?

Wait two weeks, because the USPS is the worst. If you don't get it by then, please contact me.

Will I love this as much as I think I will?

Oh, yes. And possibly more. Some are meant to be read all at once, while others are designed to be read more than once or bit by bit. Every image and word was lovingly chosen for maximum impact. So much is in such a Little periodical.

You mentioned stickers?

Every few months, you'll get a vinyl sticker in your periodical. It'll be an image from inside the issue itself. It will not be purchasable outside of the subscription at this time.

Why the multiple payment options? And do you prefer one over the other?

I recognize that everyone has their preferred company and want this to be accessible. As for my preference, I'll be honest: Venmo makes me the most money but comes with an extra step for you (an email after payment). Paypal edges out Stripe next, but they are pretty comparable. Go with whatever works best for you.

How can I use Venmo for the subscription payments?

You'll set up a recurring scheduled payment for $12. In the note, write that it's for The Little Periodical. Feel free to add your physical address in that as well to make it quick and easy for you. Alternatively, follow up with it in an email to hello (at) justanotherelizabeth (dot) com. That's it! Just like Paypal, you can cancel anytime. Only if the payment comes in before the 16th will you receive the periodical, so no need to alert me if you cancel.

Schedule Send Payments | Venmo
HOW DO I CREATE A SCHEDULED PAYMENT OR REQUEST? To set up a scheduled payment, you must ensure you have access to the Venmo app. Once in the app, follow the…

Where/how do you get your images, and what's your AI policy?

I used oodles of stock websites—some paid, some free. I do my very best to avoid AI-created images on those sites, should they have them. I also have tried my dead-level best to credit each and every artist and photographer I have used content from in the periodical itself.
