Tick tock, it's almost time
Cover lust & an announcement
Morning darklings,
Happy Friday the 13th! <3
I'm in a wrap-up space right now. It's both exhausting and satisfying. Two of the three books I'm publishing this year are in the world. Though I still have events for both, they feel temporarily taken care of. Joyce is available, alive, and making her own path. Animal Noir can be found all the places and is in the hands of the authors who wrote it.
And now, the focus is on Clocks!
Cover lust

I had so very little to do, Elizabeth Jaffari's illustration is so perfect. I added some watercolors and a background, then bam. No waffling between covers this time!
The announcement
The Kickstarter begins on the 24th! I'm thrilled to get this going, so you can all read it! Please consider following the notification page for us (even if you aren't planning on buying it). The more follows we have, the more visibility we get on launch day. And for Claw Machine, over half of the sales came from people who stumbled on us in their home feed. That's not to mention the chunk that went looking for anthologies. I know we can make this one as successful as the last, if only we get the word out!
And hey, if you all get the book before the end of the first weekend, you get Early Bird Prices, which saves you about $2 per book!
*Keep in mind that, yes, these are higher prices than on Amazon. But that's because you're helping pay the authors for their work and making the whole thing come together. Without you, there would be no book on Amazon or in libraries at all.

And for a quick glimpse of the rewards:

Synopsis
Seventeen emerging and established authors from around the world reimagined clocks and wove them into beautiful speculative and dark stories.
As you move from one narrative to the next, you’ll find yourself lost in fog, grasping at a young love, risking it all to save a dying world. Pages will swallow you whole as you slip through time, challenge what it means to live, and create an automaton. With poignant representations of queerness, disability and mental health issues, grief, love, and acceptance, Clocks is an anthology as lush and emotional as it is unique.
Stories by: Chantell Saunders, Charlotte Van Ryswyk, Courtney Raines, Elizabeth Jaffari, Erin Hall, J.S. Rogers / Front cover and interior illustrations by: Elizabeth Jaffari / Back cover illustrations by: Chantell Saunders / Edited by: Elizabeth Mitchell.
You're already dying to read it, aren't you? I know, I know, I would be too. I've read it multiple times, and yet it sounds so delicious even now.
